		<description>This is incredible.  It&#039;s not the first time I hear about lawsuits that normally shouldn&#039;t have started in the first place.  Anyway, the SawStop product  costs about $1600(http://www.myphtools.com/sawstop-cns175-sfa30). The safety feature is really nice, too bad it kind of destroys some parts when triggered - similar with safety systems on cars.</description>

		<description>I work in a rental center that rents tools to home owners and I assume this is the reason that we don&#039;t rent table saws. At some point people have to take responsibility for their own ignorance.</description>

I cut one finger in half and cut one thumb off through the joint. 

How it happens can be pretty fluky. You are tired... or working under fluorescent lights or just don&#039;t have your mind on what you are doing... 

And it happens. 

They took a poll among editors at Fine Homebuilding a few years back and the average number of fingers is 8. 

I am not so sure table saws shouldn&#039;t be more expensive. Likely if you add up the costs of injuries including lost wages that result from table saw injuries--it would likely dwarf the cost of the flesh detection system on every table saw made.</description>
